| CASINO NIGHT 2011 WAS A ROARING SUCCESS!!! |
DOING GOOD FOR KIDS HAS NEVER BEEN SO MUCH FUN!
On February 4, 2011, over 300 people enjoyed the music of Steve Christian's Party Mix, Star 98 DJ while eating, dancing, gambling (with funny money), shopping and having a sip at the bar. Everyone had something to enjoy and do, all with the goal of raising funds for students with dyslexia and attention deficit disorders who attend Woodland Hall Academy, the children's program of the Dyslexia Research Institute.
Thanks to our sponsors, donors, and those who came out and enjoyed the event, we raised over $14,000!
The Board of Directors of Dyslexia Research Institute has pledged to raise scholarship monies so that the financial burden is not crushing or beyond the reach of parents. It costs over $23,000 per year to have a child in the program. Through events like Casino Night, every child in Woodland Hall is on a partial scholarship. Scholarships, including the McKay Scholarship, range from $2,000 to $10,000.
We want to especially thank the girls from C.H.I.C.S. at FSU who volunteered serving food, directing traffic and managing the raffle.
